Are you tying the knot in your own backyard or at a church? Let the formality of your ceremony be your guide when selecting invitations.
Traditionally, formal invitations have a white or ivory background and are engraved with centered type. However, you need not stick to these constraints. Contemporary couples have as many choices for invitations as they do for designing the wedding album.
Printing styles
Traditional engraving is one of the most popular printing styles for wedding invitations, but it is also one of the most expensive because it requires a copper plate.
Many bargain-hunting couples opt for thermography instead, which can create a similar look for roughly one-third the price of engraving. Thermography mixes wet ink with a powder compound and then applies heat so the design rises off the paper.
Letterpress invitations, in which a design is pressed into paper, have been recently experiencing a revival. These invitations are often custom-made by a shop that specializes in the relief printing technique.
Offset printing is another low-cost option, while some brides and grooms opt for the hand-drawn elegance of calligraphy.
Colors
A formal wedding invitation might stick to an ivory background with black lettering, while many contemporary couples choose to incorporate their wedding colors into their invite style.
You may also consider letting the season or theme of the wedding inspire color choices - with spring/summer nuptials calling for warmer hues and cool tones suiting fall/winter events. A sunset ceremony on the beach may suggest orange or red to evoke the striking pictures in the wedding album. Meanwhile, an elegant hotel wedding may suggest deep purple or blue.
Your personal style may also influence color choices. Many people choose a light-colored background with a single shade for the design, but if you want to be bold, why not experiment with a darker background or an unusual color combination?

Choosing a Flower Girl Dress
Choosing a Flower Girl Dress
1. Flower girl dresses are available at special occasion attire stores, bridal shops, and even online child formal wear sites.
2. The flower-girl dress can be short or long. It is a good idea to ask the bride if she has a preference as to which style she would like her flower girl to wear.
3. The bride may also want the flower girl to wear the same color as her bridesmaids or a complimentary color. As long as the fabric color does not clash with the bridal attendant's attire, the flower girl is usually able to choose the color of the dress.
4. Keep in mind the location of the wedding when buying the flower-girl dress. The style you choose should be comfortable and practical for the setting. For instance, if the wedding takes place in a church with the reception to follow in a country club or high end hotel, then the flower-girl dress should be formal wear. On the other hand, if the wedding is outside in the back yard or at the beach with an outdoor reception, it would be more practical to go with a flower girl dress that is more casual.
5. The choice of color and material also depends upon the season. The bridesmaids in summer weddings usually choose cooler fabrics and lighter colors than winter weddings. When purchasing the flower-girl dress remember to consider the season in which the wedding will take place.
6. At times, it can be difficult to find the seasonal fabric for flower-girl-dresses because the dress is usually purchased months in advance. The flower-girl dress can be made in the appropriate fabric at a bridal shop but this is very expensive. Consider an online formal wear store where the flower-girl dresses for all seasons are available throughout the year. They are also more reasonably priced.
The wedding day is a time of excitement, nervousness, and delight for the little flower-girl. She is ecstatic about being part of such a wonderful day and feels like a grown up. Although the flower girl feels grown up, remember to avoid making the little girl look too mature. She is a little girl and that is the impression she should make, an innocent little girl in a little girl's dress, leaving petals of love and beauty for the bride.

How to Plan a Wedding on a Budget - Wedding Budget Tips
Having limited funds is causing many people to consider postponing their wedding. Don't put it off yet. There are ways to save for those needing low budget weddings that may keep you from needing to postpone. You can actually have a wonderful dress, wedding, reception and honeymoon for much less than many people realize. Here are wedding budget tips for how to plan a wedding on a budget even when it is a low budget.
First let's talk dresses. If you don't have the means to be on the cutting edge of style and you can appreciate the beauty of dresses that may be last season's or earlier design, you can save substantially by buying off of the sales or clearance rack. Also there are bridal stores around that once or more often during the year have major discounts that future brides line up or even camp out for. If you take advantage of one of these, try to get in there before and try things on so you know some dresses you like, where they are and size. Don't forget about the internet. There are a number of stores and resources online.
Next let's discuss the wedding venue. If you plan to have your wedding in a Church, most require a small donation for the use of the Church and the services of the minister. You may also be able to have a reception there if you don't have loud music or serve alcohol. This is potentially a huge savings, especially if you have friends or family members that cater.
Other money saving venues are parks and homes. Both of these are great venues for having ceremonies and/or receptions in warm weather. Reserving a pavilion in a park and renting or going to a craft store for decorations can make for a really beautiful event. Plus, if it is a more natural park with fantastic natural views, this will contribute even more to the beauty of the event as well as make it more memorable.
Having a wedding and/ or reception at home or at a relative's home has sentimental value. Here again you can rent or purchase decorations from a craft store. At night, candlelight is so romantic wherever you have it. Whether in the park or at home, you can have a memorable event and save a substantial amount.
To save on flowers, my first suggestion is for those having their wedding in a large Church. Many large churches have florists that they work with. You may be able to save by using the church florist. You may receive a discount for being a member of the church. This florist may allow the use of greenery for no or a very low charge. The florist may sell you candles and flowers at a discount that they can use in that Sunday's service.
My other suggestions are to not underestimate the beauty of greenery, candles and ribbons. If you use more inexpensive items like these, you may be able to get by with fewer more costly flowers. Also see if your florist will give a discount if you or a family member or friend offers some free labor.
The Honeymoon is a substantial part of the wedding budget and the one that you will probably get the most enjoyment out of. Some people spend a lot on the wedding and dress and put what is leftover into this or skip it all together. For us the most expensive things were the reception and the honeymoon and the only regret I have about that is spending so much time taking pictures that we didn't get to enjoy the reception more. My first idea of how to save here is to take advantage of those discount timeshare vacations. Yes I know it may mean enduring a major possibly half to full day sales pitch while you are there. But to get a week in Hawaii or other wonderful destination for well below what it would cost otherwise it can be worth it. Besides, you may be able to book somewhere that will throw in a wedding ceremony for free or very little at a neighbor resort. Your friends and family paying to come and stay at a different hotel or resort from you could be their contribution to helping make your special day a reality. I have to warn you though that, if you are a personality type that has your whole day ruined by a pushy telemarketer's call, you might want to give this idea a miss.
Do some research and find a beautiful destination or spa within driving distance. Many people don't know about wonderful and interesting destinations within driving distance of their home until someone comes to visit and they are showing them around and researching places for them to go. Put in the research and you may have a wonderful honeymoon for the cost of a few nights stay.
Last minute travel is another option. Who says you need to have everything completely planned out? You could set a budget and have some flexibility in your travel dates and add an element of surprise to your honeymoon. Many have friends that have told them about great trips they have taken and booked at the last minute. It's true that you don't know where you will be going but, if you make up your mind that you will enjoy wherever you go, you likely will. This option lends itself to the more spontaneous. If it will cause you a great deal of stress not knowing your destination in advance, this option is probably not for you. Wedding planning and the wedding day itself can be stressful enough.
There you have it - ideas and tips for saving money on your dress, wedding, reception and honeymoon. Hopefully following these tips will allow you to save money, not need to delay your special day and to still enjoy it to the fullest.

A Guide to Finding the Best Hotels Using the Internet
The island of Majorca is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the Mediterranean. Boasting more than 300 miles of coastline, it's not difficult to see why so many people travel there from the UK.
Unfortunately, many would suggest that having a great holiday will often mean spending a lot of money. This article takes a look at how to go about finding the best hotels on the island. It's important to note that the best hotels aren't necessarily those that are the most expensive.
In fact, they're not even those that have the highest official ratings. The best hotels are often those that offer the best value for money. So how should you start by identifying the best hotels?
Taking a look at some popular online travel agents is a good start. It will allow you to quickly identify those hotels that have the types of facilities and amenities that you require. You'll also get a better idea as to the location of many hotels.
Is this all that you need to do? Sadly not! You should bear in mind that online travel agents will generally be interested in making hotels and resorts sound as good as possible. That means that they may fail to mention some of the negatives.
This means that you should also seek out some independent reviews. The advantage of an independent review is that it will tell you much more about what it's really like to stay in a particular hotel. Don't pay too much attention to one single review, but do try to gain an overview as to what you might expect.
Fortunately, some travel agents are happy to list such reviews on their websites. Alpha Rooms are a good example of a company who have chosen to take this approach. They clearly see it as being in the best interests of their customers to be fully informed.
Use this information to help you see whether a hotel is really worth the price that is being asked. Don't allow yourself to be blinded by the official ratings - we all know that these can often be unrealistic.
Gather as much information as you can and you'll be able to identify the Majorca hotels that are truly best for you.

The Difference Between Serviced Apartments and Hotels
Hotels have traditionally been the first port of call for most companies when doing business in another city. They provide a place for employees to rest and often a city-centre base from which to go out and perform whatever working duties are required. But what are the alternatives? Is there anything that can offer the same comfort and convenience but with a more homely atmosphere? Well, serviced apartments could well provide the solution.
When doing regular business trips between major cities, going from hotel room to hotel room can be a draining experience. Aside from the very best and very worst examples, there's an inherent uniformity to the layout, style and atmosphere of almost any hotel. With serviced apartments, every place is unique. There are additional facilities at your disposal, including extra living areas and even kitchens, which all go together to make them a real home away from home.
The popularity of these serviced apartments has increased exponentially in recent years, with companies and individual travellers becoming far more aware of their benefits. Whether in London, Liverpool, Manchester or Birmingham, there are plenty of places available catering for varying individual requirements, budgets and city locations.
They can be particularly useful when staying in large groups or over an extended period of time. If there are a number of delegates from a company or even a gathering of friends needing to stay overnight in a city, then a serviced apartment can provide a great focal point and also really help to cut down living costs. If you know you're going to be in one location for a reasonable duration, apartments can also be a fantastic chance for you to have a homely base from which to work from.
Serviced apartments cover the full spectrum of modern accommodation. You can find basic, affordable options just as easily as you can a sophisticated luxury pad. So whatever your budget and personal taste, you shouldn't be short of options when it comes to choosing a property.
As with any hotel, serviced apartments tend to be available on a day-to-day basis; giving you the freedom to stay as long as you need. This managed service is often regulated by a travel broker, just as with booking a hotel. Many of these companies have built a wide-ranging portfolio of accommodation options to fulfil the vast majority of customer's needs. In turn, this ensures better service, increased competition and a standard quality code to meet with your expectations.
As they are serviced, all apartments are kept clean and have maintenance available to deal with any issues. This cost is ordinarily tied in with the rental price, ensuring you don't get any nasty surprises down the line. So in many respects these apartments aren't a million miles away from what you can expect from a hotel, certainly in terms of service, but the facilities and other associated benefits give them a whole new dynamic.
So if you're off to a major city, be it Manchester, Birmingham, London or Liverpool, and fancy trying something new in terms of your accommodation, then why not give serviced apartments a go? You can be right at the heart of things with a comfortable base from which to go about your business. Offering great facilities across a wide range of properties, it's a versatile industry that is really on the move.

Fresh New Bridesmaid Dresses For 2010
The fall bridal shows are always exciting. Naturally, the highlight for most brides-to-be is seeing the latest wedding gown designs, but there are also some hot new styles debuted for bridesmaids during bridal market. Here are some of the fresh new bridesmaid dresses for 2010 weddings.
First of all, the ubiquitous strapless silhouette has finally loosened its grip on the bridesmaid collections. Bridesmaids, breathe a sigh of relief! No more tugging and pulling on ill-fitting strapless bridesmaid dresses that always seem to slip at just the wrong moment. You may actually get to wear a dress with straps if you are an attendant in a 2010 wedding!
One of the styles to take the place of all strapless, all the time is the classic bateau neck. An immensely flattering and graceful neckline that brings to mind Audrey Hepburn, there is plenty to love about a bateau neck bridesmaid dress. Shown in gorgeous colors like rich purple at Melissa Sweet, a bateau neckline gown with a full A-line skirt is an ideal accompaniment to the 1950s inspired bridal gowns that dominated the runways for 2010. Such a classic dress should be finished off with equally timeless accessories, such as pearl bridesmaid jewelry sets.
Brides who want a hip and modern bridesmaid dress will adore the one shoulder dresses that are available for 2010. Sleek and contemporary, a knee length one shoulder bridesmaid dress is a fantastic choice for a wedding with a city chic flair. Match it with one of the slinky sheath style bridal gowns which are in vogue. Killer shoes and dramatic bridesmaid earrings are a must with this hot attendants' dress.
For long bridesmaid dresses, soft chiffon is one of the most popular fabrics. Seen in a neutral charcoal gray at Amsale or a lovely periwinkle at Badgley Mischka, floor length chiffon gowns are a stunning option for a formal wedding, day or evening. The gowns feature special details such as draped bodices, flattering halter necklines, or soft ruffles which set them apart from the boring bridesmaid dresses of years past. Perhaps the best thing about these elegant new bridesmaid gowns is that they do not scream "bridesmaid". They are actually stylish enough that they could (gasp!) be worn again later.
Color is an important factor in the look of a bridal party, and there is an interesting range of options for the 2010 bridesmaid dress collections. Noticeably absent are a lot of "safe" or pastel colors. Charcoal gray has emerged as a surprisingly wearable top color choice for bridesmaids. Deep colors like purple and ink blue are popular, as are bold colors such as vivid sunset orange. A new trend is very pale and ethereal colors which are not much darker than the color of the bride's dress. When made in soft and floaty fabrics like chiffon, the pale bridesmaid dresses will create an almost otherworldly effect. Complete the look with sets of bridesmaid jewelry in clear crystal.
Whatever your style, there will be a bridesmaid dress that suits it. Remember to first select your wedding gown before falling in love with a bridesmaid style. After all, as much as you want your 'maids to look gorgeous, you want to make sure that they complement your attire as much as possible.
